Oil Cap Project Manager


The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is seeking a full-time, experienced project manager for our China Oil Cap Policy Project, to be based in NRDC's Beijing office. The project seeks to help China to peak and reduce its oil consumption as early as possible in key sectors including transportation and the chemicals industry, by providing policy and technical recommendations to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.

Position Summary:

The China Oil Cap Policy Project Manager will be responsible for overall project administration and implementation, and coordination of project subgrantees for a project cooperating with government research institutes, think tanks, and universities, on the research, design, and implementation of an oil consumption cap policy for China to meet environmental, health, climate, and sustainable economic development goals. With support from the project team, the PM will be responsible for coordinating subgrantees including management of research proposals and contracting, monitoring and ensuring progress, and communication of research results. The PM will develop and manage effective internal processes on progress and financial reporting, budget and expense monitoring, and coordination with the Finance and Development teams in NRDC's head office on payments, contracting, and other related issues. The Project Manager will be based in NRDC's Beijing Office and will be an integral part of the China Climate and Energy team.
