Cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in green and low-carbon transition is now entering a new age of opportunity. Based on the national conditions, policy environment, industrial and economic development level, energy demand and new energy development endowments of ASEAN countries, the report analyzes the challenges and key issues facing ASEAN countries in green and low-carbon transition and in realizing carbon neutrality. To promote the low-carbon cooperation between China and ASEAN countries under the BRI, the report divides the ten ASEAN countries into four categories to provide tailored policy recommendations for their green energy transition. The report discusses and identifies the potentials and opportunities for cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, laying the ground for concrete low-carbon cooperation in the future.
