E-Reporting in Fisheries

2021-10

Digital technology is currently the subject of increasing research and deployment in China's fisheries. This report presents a series of case studies from Canada, New Zealand, the US, and the Parties to the Nauru Agreement. Each case study details multiple aspects of e-reporting in fisheries, from policy, laws and regulations and/or standards, to general design and operation, including the lessons learned from their transition from a paper-based system. E-reporting has the potential for wide application in China and this report  provides a useful reference in the ongoing sustainable digital fisheries reform.
