This study uses projected growth in electric vehicle ownership in Shanghai to evaluate the potential impacts of electric vehicle charging on the city’s grid. Based on Shanghai’s peak load and the current driving patterns of electric vehicle users, this study analyses the potential applications of electric vehicles in the power system.
