Jieqing Zhang spoke at the forum  

NRDC China Country Director Jieqing Zhang gave a keynote speech at the Beautiful China 100 People’s Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on August 5. She emphasized that, to curve the biodiversity loss by 2030, the global biodiversity funding gap is over $700 billion each year. Although biodiversity communities and financial institutions have responded to the issue, there is big room for improvement. She pointed out that we need strengthened policies, enhanced incentive mechanisms, consistent standards for information disclosure on biodiversity impacts and risks. International cooperation and capacity-building should be strengthened, and innovation in biodiversity financing models and products should be promoted. The forum is a high-level annual event in environmental protection area.
