Roundtable discussion @Zhengzhou University

Henan has been under increasing pressure to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions since the State Council issued the Air Quality Improvement Action Plan in 2023. NRDC was invited by our partner Zhengzhou University to share insights on synergizing the reduction of air pollution and carbon emissions in Henan with policymakers and industrial representatives at the 2nd Central China Dual Carbon Forum on April 21. Policy makers from the Henan Development and Reform Committee and the Department of Science and Technology, and academicians and experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Energy Conservation Center and German National Academy of Engineering attended the event. In a roundtable discussion, Zhang Jieqing, Country Director of NRDC China, presented case studies from Henan's power and cement industries to underline the transformative impact of technological innovation in achieving China’s carbon neutrality target and mitigating global climate change. The event attracted around 300 participants onsite and more joined online.
