NRDC is part of an accelerated push to develop and implement programs to reduce port emissions in the Pearl River Delta, the world's busiest port region. NRDC's Ports team had a productive trip in January, 2014, to meet with Chinese government officials, port managers, leading researchers, and government advisors in the region, all of whom were eager to learn from NRDC's experience pioneering programs that have dramatically reduced air pollution from ports and shipping. NRDC signed an MOU with the top research institute under China's Ministry of Transport, China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, to work together for greener ports in China.
