Expert’s presentation on electricity market mechanism that promotes green development @NRDC
NRDC and the China Energy Research Society (CERS) have embarked on a new research initiative aimed at exploring viable market-oriented solutions for the construction of a New Power System. To support the research, NRDC and CERS organized the 12th "New Power System Salon" to gather insights and industry expertise on October 30.
During the salon, the experts emphasized that the integration of the government-driven policy framework and market-based mechanisms will propel China’s power ecosystem towards adequacy, security, and efficiency. The experts also specified the tasks for deepening the power market reform, including improving the ancillary, spot, and capacity markets to foster market competition and level the playing field, as well as further coordinating the relationship among the green electricity trading, green electricity certificate, and carbon markets.
This event and the experts’ views were widely disseminated by key media, including Jiemian and Huanqiu.
