With NRDC’s support, a research team from the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University completed a study on global mixed fisheries management systems, including 23 cases in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. The study is so far the most comprehensive analysis of global mixed fisheries management models. 

The research team also analyzed China’s mixed fisheries. The research findings were published in two high-impact academic journals, "Reviews in Fisheries Science & Aquaculture" and "Fish and Fisheries", respectively. Based on these research findings, NRDC summarized 9 findings and 5 action recommendations, and submitted to the fisheries authorities, providing a reference for mixed fisheries management in region-based TAC pilot programs, such as China's Bohai Sea TAC scheme.
