NRDC and our eco-partner Beijing Energy Conservation Environmental Protection Center (BEEC) set a new milestone in our cooperation by expanding our existing collaboration on energy efficiency to include environmental protection. On September 17, 2014, NRDC, BEEC and the Clean Air Alliance of China (CAAC) jointly hosted the Sino-U.S. Clean Air Policy and Technology Seminar which focused on helping Beijing address its pressing air pollution problem. Chinese experts introduced Beijing’s Clean Air Action Plan (2013-2017) and discussed how Beijing could meet its air quality target. International experts shared U.S. experiences, policies, technologies, and programs for addressing air pollution. About 35 participants from various organizations attended and responded positively with in-depth Q&A discussions,demonstrating interest for similar exchanges in the future.
