To promote environmental performance improvements of brands' supply chains based on public data, the fourth Corporate Information Transparency Index (CITI) ranking result and annual report were released in October. The index was jointly developed by the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs (IPE) and NRDC. The 2017 CITI evaluation ranked 267 brands that source from suppliers in mainland China and the report shows that China's sharp strengthening of environmental supervision is prompting more brands to recognize supply chain environmental risks. It also points out that insufficient capacity has become a bottleneck hindering companies from going green.
