The Belt and Road Green Development Partnership, an NGO platform supported by NRDC, Greenovation Hub, WWF, GEI and other NGOs, held its third annual forum in Beijing on September 26, bringing together over 200 experts and participants to discuss the current progress and available opportunities for greening Belt and Road power and heavy industry investments, as well as greening finance, and innovation in areas such as transportation and forestry. During the forum, NRDC released a new report on “Greening China’s Belt and Road Production Capacity Cooperation and Development in Energy-Intensive Industries”, providing recommendations for green standards to be applied for Chinese enterprises building production capacity in BRI countries for energy-intensive industries such as steel, cement, coal chemicals, coal mining, and petrochemicals and ethylene refining.
