2014-12-10

On December 10, 2014, NRDC and four other organizations jointly released a report, "Climate Change and Urbanization: Challenges & Progress," at the COP 20 climate conference in Lima, Peru. The NRDC China Program's Sustainable Cities team led the drafting of this report, which underscores the impact that China's urbanization has on climate change by summarizing China's urban growth experiences and recent low-carbon development in three major areas: land use, transportation, and energy. The report outlines how China can reduce carbon emissions from urbanization, and how the international community can help China achieve low-carbon, sustainable urbanization goals. The report received positive feedback from the media
