NRDC aims to improve water and energy efficiency and reduce pollution by pushing for a sustainable procurement policy in the apparel industry. Under its "city initiative," NRDC completed three initial sets of technical training and organized workshops to share best practices in the textile hubs of Guangzhou (Guangdong Province) and Shaoxing (Zhejiang Province). Senior experts were invited to visit selected mills and provide support in the creation of action plans to achieve both environmental conservation and economic gains.
