Two New Reports Analyzing How Electric Vehicles Could Add Values to the Power System

2018-09-18

In continuation to promote electric vehicles as a grid resource, NRDC has recently released two reports: “Analysis on Impact and Benefits of Electric Vehicles on the Power Grid Distribution Network” together with the State Grid Energy Research Institute, and “Analysis on Markets and Incentive Mechanisms for Electric Vehicle Energy Storage Application” with the Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission of China. Study findings of both reports affirm that EVs provide added -values to the current power system when there exist well-functioning policies and markets in place. NRDC has been taking the lead with local partners in the efforts to realize the great potential that EVs have to decarbonize the power system. NRDC also brings Chinese experiences abroad: we organized an event on “Fast-Tracking Global Electric Vehicle Deployment,” at the Global Climate Action Summit on September 12. The Deputy Secretary General of China EV100 was invited as one of the panelists to support the event and also to introduce EV industry development in China.
