Looking into the Future of Electric Vehicles

As the coordinating organization for the China Oil Cap Project, NRDC held a workshop on the future development of electric vehicles at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, together with the Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation (iCET) on October 18. The workshop was held during the China International Energy-Saving and New Energy Vehicles Exhibition (2018 IEEVChina), one of largest professional exhibitions for the energy-saving and new energy automobile industry in China, and the largest, most influential professional exhibition platform of its kind in Asia. Experts from the Energy Research Institute at the National Development and Reform Commission, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Academy of Transportation Sciences, the China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., and other research institutes, as well as representatives from cities and industry gathered together to discuss key issues related to the evolution of transportation, and the influence of the development of electric vehicles on the future of transportation, energy, and the environment in China. The workshop is the third event in the "Leaping over the Age of Oil" series, hosted by China Oil Cap Project in 2018, and it highlights vehicle electrification’s important role in capping the total consumption of oil.
