China is developing its national park system as the center of the country’s future Protected-Area System. The development of the country’s national park system isa national priorityand an important step toward building the nation’s ecological civilization. It will also contribute to the global natural resource protection and ecological security. NRDC works with government agencies, research institutes and conservation organizations in China to provide recommendations on regulartory framework and legislation of the National Park System and facilitate exchange of international park development and management experience. We work with the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park, one of the 10 pilot parks to be formally established by 2020, to explore ways to ensure the sustainable development of local residents in harmony with nature.
