Wei Li focuses on the research and analysis of China’s fisheries policies, such as total allowable catch (TAC), small-scale fisheries, fishery transition, and others. She also promotes sustainable fisheries management with Chinese and international partners. Before joining NRDC, she worked for the City University of Hong Kong and the United Nations Development Programme in China. She is selected as one of the eight 2025 Edinburgh Ocean Leaders, a program that is highly important to industries related to marine resources, conservation, and sustainable development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Shandong University and an MPhil in marine ecology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
