In recent years, cycling has gained momentum as a fashionable mode of transport, thanks to supportive national and local green policies. With rising cyclist numbers, safety has emerged as a pivotal factor influencing commuting choices. NRDC, aiming to enhance cycling conditions, has engaged a Tsinghua University team led by Professor Long Ying, to scrutinize risk factors within Beijing's Fourth Ring cycling environment. Utilizing video equipment to mirror a rider's view, the team gathered and analyzed data on local cycling paths. This report delves into 12 identified risk factors, aiming to present an unbiased snapshot of Beijing's cycling infrastructure and to inform the development of a safer cycling environment for the future.
