Implementing green procurement policies for building materials is an effective measure to accelerate decarbonization in the cement industry and the building sector. Government can take the lead in creating demand for low-carbon products, catalyzing low-carbon production through procurement. The China Academy of Building Research released a report at a workshop co-organized with NRDC. The report aims to incorporate low-carbon limits into the government procurement policies for concrete products. The report analyzes the barriers for the policy development and provided solutions.
