Wind-Solar-Energy Storage Integration Study for Hunan Province

2024-11

Hunan Province currently imports 80% of its power while facing increasing electricity demand in the service and residential sectors. NRDC, the Institute of Energy at Peking University (IEPKU) and the Hunan Province Electric Power Designing Institute of China Energy Construction Group jointly held a seminar on how the integrated development of wind, solar, and energy storage can reliability support the scale-up of renewable energy in Hunan province.  The IEPKU and the Hunan Energy Carbon Neutrality Development Research Center released this report at the seminar, held in Changsha, Hunan, in November 2024. The report reviews the current status and trends in Hunan's power system, analyzes the renewable energy distribution characteristics in the province, and proposes an integrated wind-solar-energy storage development planning and benefit cost allocation model, as well as recommended actions.

The report is only available in Chinese.
