In the wake of the U.S.-China Joint Announcement on Climate Change signed in September, this roundtable was intended for China and the U.S. to introduce the power sector actions in both countries to combat climate change. During the roundtable, power sector experts from both countries shared their work in projecting carbon emissions peaking pathways, exit mechanisms for thermal generation, ways to acquire flexible power generation resources, reducing renewable curtailment, energy interconnection and carbon trading scheme design, and had an extensive discussion on those topics.
