On August 31, NRDC President and CEO Manish Bapna and NRDC China Country Director Jieqing Zhang, visited the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) to meet with the vice administrator and department leads of NFGA to discuss collaboration regarding the construction of the national park system, biodiversity conservation, and forestry and grassland responses to climate change. 

To protect biodiversity and address climate change, NRDC has collaborated with partners to conduct research on laws and regulations for national parks, supported pilot projects for national park development and community governance, and shared experiences and best practices in marine protected areas (MPAs). Additionally, we have conducted research to support the improvement of wildlife conservation laws and management systems. We promote international exchange and cooperation in law enforcement and judiciary. We have also advocated for enhancing ecosystem carbon sinks through Nature-based Solutions (NbS), promoting forest conservation, and achieving synergistic effectiveness in biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation.
