Zhang Jieqing, NRDC China Country Director, highlighted in her speech that Inner Mongolia’s wind and solar capacity has exceeded 100 GW, ranking first nationally in both installed capacity and power generation. The region holds a key position in ensuring national energy security and implementing the “dual carbon” strategy.

Business representatives shared their respective experiences in low-carbon development. Envision, an industry leader on wind turbines and energy management software, introduced an industrial park project they supported in Erdos. With abundant local solar and wind resources, the green power consumption of the industrial park is expected to reach 80% by 2030, bringing 100,000 green jobs and 100 million tons of carbon reduction.

More than 200 people attended the conference, including policy makers and experts from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Inner Mongolia, the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning, Inner Mongolia Power Grid and the Institute of Energy of Peking University.

The experts’ insights were covered by key local media including the Inner Mongolia channel of Xinhua News Agency, Inner Mongolia Daily, and Inner Mongolia Business News.
