NRDC China Program Director Jingjing Qian was invited by the Beijing Transport Commission in October to join a popular rush-hour travel radio program on Beijing Communication Radio to discuss how to reduce Beijing's heavy traffic congestion. She used the opportunity to explain the importance of making streets safe and easy for walking and biking in order to address congestion. The radio host was particularly interested in our reports on walkability, which scored 52 Chinese cities on their walking friendliness. The Beijing Transport Radio Station has two social media platforms with over 4.5 million followers and 200,000 followers, respectively. Jingjing Qian's key points on the show were highlighted by these social media platforms and Beijing's Evening Newspapers and other popular news portals.
