CCID Group, a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology research institute, released the "2018 China Manufacturing Green Supply Chain Development Research Report" in January, introducing the latest developments in green supply chain management for key industries and enterprises, as well as for urban green supply chains. The report also tracks China's integration into the global green supply chain. The report points out that NGOs, such as NRDC, have played an active role in promoting China’s Green Supply Chain construction. The report highlights NRDC’s Clean by Design project, which promotes energy savings and emissions reduction in the textile industry, and the CITI index, a green supply chain evaluation system developed by NRDC in cooperation with the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs. The report indicated that brands’ influence on their suppliers has been strengthening and emphasized NRDC and other NGOs’ successful work in the field. It is clear that green procurement policies can be effective in promoting the adoption of green supply chain management in enterprises.
