Alvin Lin, NRDC’s China Climate and Energy Policy Director, moderated an online discussion hosted by the China Institute, the oldest China-focused non-profit organization in the U.S, on March 4. The event, "Getting to Zero: Can the U.S. and China Save the Planet?", explored the issues, challenges, and solutions for both countries as they seek to reach net-zero by 2050 and 2060 respectively. Participants also discussed how the two nations might cooperate on building a net-zero future. Panelists included environmental leaders Ma Jun, founder of the Institute for Public and Environmental Affairs in Beijing, and Jeffrey Sachs, an economist at Columbia University’s Center for Sustainable Development.
