NRDC is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator/Project Coordinator in our Beijing office.
Position Summary
This position supports the Clean Power Project (CPP), which leads NRDC’s efforts on scaling up renewable energy, demand side resources and electric vehicles in China. The CPP team is managing a significant number of contracts with local powers at both the national and subnational levels covering East, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest China. The Senior Project Coordinator will provide operational, administrative and research support to the CPP team.
This position is based in NRDC’s Beijing office and is an integral part of NRDC’s China team in the International Program.
Responsibilities
Prepare periodic project reports and project status updates, working with project team members to collect information as needed. Provide project management support to track project progress and completion of project deliverables as needed.
Schedule, coordinate and attend various external and internal meetings and seminars (e.g. training workshops, report releases, publicity events, staff field visits, etc.), including but not limited to administrative and logistical arrangements, meeting material preparation, and the recording and distribution of meeting minutes.
Draft, proof, edit and distribute correspondence, memorandums, presentations and other documents, and translate project-related materials.
Process invoices and expense reports, help with budget tracking, prepare monthly expense forecast and fund request, and support compliance reporting as required.
Draft, submit and track contracts for legal review and process approved contracts for signing. Maintain project contract and document library, ensuring project files (electronic and paper) are well organized and up to date.
Track and draft synopses of energy and power sector policies and news on a monthly basis, and lead the production monthly power sector newsletter in collaboration with NRDC’s China power team members.
Provide compliance support to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all internal and external compliance requirements.
Occasional business trips required.
Foster teamwork and help enhance team satisfaction with work and work environment. Work to create a culture of teamwork, high performance and accountability.

Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience
Degree in energy, environmental or public policy, or a related field.
3+ years of related experience in similar capacity.
Experience in communications, journalism or policy advocacy a plus.
Skills, Abilities, Competencies
Fluency in English and Chinese, with excellent oral and written skills as well as bilingual translation ability.
A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely detail oriented and organized.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with great team spirit.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, follow organizational procedures, and perform accurately under deadlines.
Degree in energy, environmental policy or science, or a related field. Experience working in the public and/or non-profit sector desired.
Demonstrated interest and experience in environmental issues a plus.
