The study focuses on reviewing the status of fugitive methane emissions and management in three major sectors in China: energy, agriculture, and waste. It analyzes the differences between Chinese and international practices. Referring to the current situation and to the national "Methane Emissions Control Action Plan" released on November 7, 2023, the study proposes recommendations regarding methane control pathways and policies in the energy, agriculture, and waste sectors in China. These recommendations are based on international best practices, providing references for China’s methane utilization and emission reduction, and addressing climate change.
The report is only available in Chinese.
